The General Review Manoevers: or, the Whole Evolutions of a Battalion of Foot, &c., London, 1779
$14.00
This 40 page manual is the often read about, but seldom seen, the 1778 Manual and Exercize that replaced the 1764 drill. The interesting point regarding this manual is that, although it was to be used throughout the British Army, the only forces that did employ it were in Great Britain. Many of the Regiments stationed on the establishment used a variation of this new manual and the old ’64 it was to replace. The British forces in America still clung to the old and familiar, if not venerable ’64. Bound in a printed wrap.
